Literature Text
We were too impatient to wait
So it was never the right strength—
Too weak to be what you need,
And yet, too strong for me to handle.
It was too light for substance
But dark enough
To leave a bitter taste.
So it was never the right strength—
Too weak to be what you need,
And yet, too strong for me to handle.
It was too light for substance
But dark enough
To leave a bitter taste.

My poetry is evidence of my life.
I am not dead but alive forevermore.
Who are you to call me dead?
Who are you to disregard my intentions
my opinions, my life
in favor of your own ideas.
To disregard me is to disregard my poetry.
Each poem is a piece of me,

Use of imagery is somewhat minimal but
still presents a vivid picture and theme. The
rhythm though, is the stand-out element- partially
due to the usage of typesetting.

I'm just now coming around to this: but that's the good thing about galleries here, since once something is posted, it's there. I'm glad I came across this. I'm not much into reading or writing poetry, but I love the experience of reading something that pulls me in and doesn't let go until it's done. Good writing, poetry or fiction, always does this. The emotion in this is intense, but in a slow-burn sort of way, and it's beautifully, hypnotically written. I'm marking this as a favorite.
