So, sadly, I wasn't able to finish NaPoWriMo this year. It's a little disappointing, but realistically, I had too much on my plate this semester. But I have unearthed some poems in my stash that I had forgotten were there. So I'll post those when I get the chance, along with some of the art I've been working on in school hopefully. If everything goes according to plan, you'll hear from me again soon!

So, all throughout the month of March, I was looking forward to April! I was really crazy-hyped for NaPoWriMo. I even started writing a few poems early because I was so excited about it. And then April rolled around, and I started the month off with a bajillion projects due in all of my classes (I'm taking 18 undergrad credits at the moment,) and completely forgot about NaPoWriMo. So, I am almost a whole week behind at this point, but I'm still going to try to write 30 poems during the month. I'll just have to double up on some days. To be honest though, I might not really be able to write much for the first few days, so my catching up is going to have to be later in the month. I might be trying to do more in the way of song lyrics than straight-up poems, but we shall see.

On another note, I've been really MIA recently. But as I mentioned earlier, I've got a fairly heavy class load this semester. I have been doing a lot of art things though, (mainly because they're for classes,) but once the semester is over, I can scan/photograph a lot of these things and share them. I've done a few gouache paintings, and I'm working on an installation, a formal dress, and a really awesome skirt. I'm really excited to share them once I've got the time. I also have recorded a song cover for a friend of mine, which will be included in her wedding reception playlist, and I'll post a link to that as soon as I have a chance to upload it.

So anyway, thanks for your patience everybody! I hope you hadn't forgotten about me. heh. If you're not doing NaPoWriMo, I'd stongly encourage you to check it out and try to do it, even if you're getting a late start. In years past, it has helped push me to create some poems that I'm really proud of honestly. Have a fabulous April, everybody!

I got tagged by Xyron7777777 to answer 10 questions. Here's the thing. I'll answer things if I'm tagged, but I don't really pass them on. Not trying to be a bad sport, but I don't really do "rules" like the ones that always come with these things. Main reason, I don't want to be a burden, or annoying to my friends. (Not that I'm annoyed by doing these things, but I know some people who would be.) If you wouldn't mind being tagged, let me know in a comment, and I'll come up with 10 questions for you. If you don't, then I don't mind that either.

Here are the questions that I'm supposed to answer:



1. What is your favorite game (video, board, tabletop, whatever)?

I don't really game. I briefly participated in the LARP "Vampire: The Masquerade," but I don't really have time to go very often while I'm in school. I'll probably pick it back up when I'm out of college. I'm also sort of on a roller derby team, if that counts. I'm not an official member yet because I haven't joined the league, but I'm in training.
 
2. What is your favorite Animal (Mythic or real)?

I love cats. I've never been one for mythic animals. I mean, some of them are cool, but I've always been more enchanted by magical peoples. But CATS though. 

3. What's the funniest story you can think of that's happened to you recently?

To be honest, nothing really funny has happened to me recently. I've been on break, which means that most of my friends are gone. So, the funniest thing recently . . . well today was my birthday, and I turned 20, and my older sister wrote on my Facebook "Happy Birthday. Come over and do things for me now that you are old."

4. Which deviant would you recommend that I start watching?

This is not a fair question. This is like picking which of your children is your favorite. Or, like picking which of your friends to have in your wedding. Or choosing one stuffed animal to keep and the rest will be thrown away! It depends on what kind of art your interested in. If you really want to know, message me and I'll tell you who is my favorite artist of each genre that I care about.

5. Why did you join DA?

I joined dA the first time when I was in middle school. I don't even remember anymore. Probably partially because my older sister used it, and if I used it too, it would make me cool. Right? And partially because I actually thought I was a good artist back then. (I only drew, and I wasn't good at all.)

6. What forms of social media do you frequent? You don't have to give us usernames or anything. I'm just curious what you crazy kids use these days.

I have Facebook, but I really only get on it occasionally. I use Twitter, but no one pays any attention to me there. I really like instagram. It's probably my current favorite social medium. I also use YikYak, especially at school.

7. Do you have any hidden talents?

I don't really hide much. But I don't frequently talk on dA about the fact that I absolutely adore singing, and would love to do it professionally some day. I'm also studying fashion design, if anyone has missed that. To be honest, writing poetry is my hidden talent irl. But obviously, anyone who follows me on dA would know that.

8. Do you have any pets? Please list them so we can judge you on their names. 

My family has a lot of pets:
Ootini - female, ginger, rescued feral cat.
Anakin - black, male, American shorthair cat (should have been named Toothless.)
Puppy - littermate of Anakin, male, gray, American shorthair cat
Houdini - adopted brother of Anakin and Puppy, black, fluffy, American longhair cat.
Olive - female, light tortoiseshell, American longhair cat
Gypsy - black and brown, small-medium, long-haired, unidentifiably mixed-breed dog.

MY personal pet is a 3-legged, ginger, tabby, male, cat named C3PO. 

9. What's your favorite piece of literature (book, play, poem, short, whatever)?

Again, with the favorite children thing? I don't know, my current favorite piece of literature I guess would be the lyrics of "Get Well" by Ariel Bloomer, of Icon for Hire. It's a great song. Give it a listen.

10. What would you consider a good gift from a friend (say...for a birthday)?

I like anything that is heartfelt. I really enjoy getting handmade gifts like art or useful crafts, though, I also love little things like really cute ear rings. I also like gluten-free, vegan desserty things. Or gift cards to a fabric store near me. Or just money. I'm at that stage in my life where no matter how much money I get, I'm still poor.

I figured I'd probably waited long enough to start submitting my textures and Folio Pages again. I will, however, not do it all in one shot though. I know a lot of you follow me for poetry, not for other art forms, and I don't want to bore you. (Don't worry! I still write poems!) SO, I'll be doing a few every day until they're all done. I'm putting all of my folio pages in one gallery folder, and I'm making sure they stay in order. Once they're all done, (and I'll let you know when that is,) you can view them in the order that they are in my Folio Book. It's not quite the same as looking at the book itself, but I certainly hope you'll still enjoy it. (The teacher whose class I made this project for said that it was one of her favorites EVER. So I'm pretty proud of it.) I am making the textures available for download as Premium Content if you're interested in that, and I'm also making the pages available as Premium content as well. If you put a few side by side they could even work as a desktop background or something. knock yourself out. I wanna see what you can do with it!

As a side note, I start school again next week, so I'm going to try and have all of these submitted before then. 

One more thing, As I said, I released many textures as Premium Content Downloads. I don't want to be annoying about it, but I do know that several people have copied them and just used the parts not covered by the watermark. I'm not calling anyone out, but just keep in mind that I am an excruciatingly poor college student without a job. Thanks!
