Experimenting with Media

So, earlier, I had been talking about doing a poetry podcast, but I don't think it's quite going to work out like that because of my busy schedule. But, I do like the idea of audio recordings of poetry. So, I made a recording of my poem "Blueprint Girl" and put it on Soundcloud for people to listen to if they'd like. soundcloud.com/babydollvain/bl… I also had the idea to submit it as premium content on the deviation. (Check the top of this Journal Entry for the linksies.) It's not very many points. . . (30) but hopefully, it'll pay for the time I spent recording it if you think of it like minimum wage? No actually, that would probably not even ever come close, even with a ton of downloads. Whatever. That doesn't really matter. What matters is how annoying it is that you can't use increments of 5 points as a premium content price. If you could, I'd only charge 25 that way it would be the equivalent of a US quarter. I guess I'm just obsessive-compulsive like that. *shrug*

For those of you who are all like "The nerve of her! Wanting to make me pay to listen to her read something she wrote!" Remember that it's free to stream from Soundcloud. It's just like if you went to a cafe that was hosting a poetry reading, and you tipped the poet as you left, only when you tip me, you actually get to keep what I said. How cool is that? (By the way, the text file is also part of the premium content package.) Another cool part about it is, you don't have to go to some cafe to hear me read it. See guys, I'm being nice. I'm saving you gas money, and the money you would have felt obligated to spend on food from wherever I was reading, just because you would have been occupying a booth, or at least a bar stool. Drinking coffee. But you can make your own coffee! And then you can listen to me on endless repeat. (Another thing you couldn't do live.) Alright. Have I sold anyone on this idea? If no one is interested even in the concept, I probably won't bother to go back and do recordings of other poems. If you Are interested in a recording of a specific poem, let me know in a comment!
